In Matthew 21 Jesus quotes a prophecy which was made about Him in Psalms 118.  “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”  Then, He elaborates, by telling His listeners that if you fall on that stone, you will be broken into pieces, but if the stone falls on you, you will be crushed to powder.

In this message, Mark makes a bold statement: “We will all be humbled.  It’s your choice: pieces or dust?”  He elaborates by explaining that God loves each of us enough to humble us.  But, often people don’t take the wise option, which is to humble yourself, by falling on the stone (Jesus), so you will be broken into pieces.  Instead, far too many run from that level of humility, not wanting to be broken, only to learn that the other option is that you will be crushed to powder (dust). 

This teaching is not for the casual Christian, who wants a “feel good” message.  This is for those who seriously want to walk with Christ by taking up their cross and following Him.  If you want to understand the humility of Christ, in a personal way, then you’ve found your message.
