Gideon started with 32,000 men and ended up with only 300.  All 32,000 wanted to be a part of Gideon's army until he asked them two questions: 1. Are you afraid? 2. How do you drink water?

With those two questions he lost 31,700 men.  The end result was an army made up of less than 1% of the original number.

This story teaches us 2 very important things: 1. God didn't choose the 300.  He gave them the choice. 2. There is a great difference between answering the initial call and proving   yourself chosen for battle.

Thousands of people pray the "sinner's prayer" every day.  How many of them go on with God and grow into warriors, worthy of battle?  The statistics today are probably the same as they were for Gideon.  1 in 100
