PREPARING FOR MARKETPLACE MINISTRY - Audio 1 Mp3 Download
Of Jesus’ 52 parables, 45 were based on marketplace examples: construction, treasure hunting, family owned businesses, return on investments, farming, crop yield, future markets, management criteria, the need for research, bankruptcy, venture capital in high risk situations, hostile takeover and the advantage of leverage. Most of the people who ministered in the New Testament were marketplace leaders: Peter had his own fishing company. Paul was a tent maker. Lydia was a wholesaler of expensive fabric, Dorcas a clothing designer. The Gospels were written by a doctor (Luke), retired tax officer (Matthew), partner in a food enterprise (John) and a millionaire (Mark). The church will never fulfill its calling until we take ministry to the marketplace. God wants to use you where you work. We need to empower our congregations to be used of God in the marketplace.
This audio was recorded at a Marketplace Ministry Conference in Singapore, which included many highly-successful Christian business leaders from several countries throughout Asia. At the end of Mark’s teaching, there is a “Question & Answer” session.
