We often find that typical church ministry paradigms (mind-sets) don’t work in the “real world”, because they’re designed for Christians, or those who already have a Christian mindset - paradigm. To reach those in the marketplace, you must “think marketplace”, while teaching Jesus and Gospel.

Many churches today believe they need to “water down” their church services, diluting them, to make them “Seeker Sensitive”, to be more appealing and comfortable for the non-Christian.  But, Jesus didn’t do that.  He confronted sin, whether it was in the world, or the ministry, even facing down religious leaders for their hypocrisy.  And, He never apologized for his beliefs, or His walk with God, but rather, demonstrated God’s power in His life by performing miracles before their eyes.

 We need to take Christ to the world, instead of trying to make our churches seem more “like the world”, in the hope that people will be more likely to attend our services to hear the message of salvation.  The church is called to equip Christians, preparing them for ministry in the business world, so they can lead people to Christ, and then bring them back to church, so they can “meet the family”.  Then, the church can help disciple those new Christians, to help them grow in Christ, so they can be equipped and prepared for Marketplace Ministry, themselves.
