Don't Give Up!

One of the greatest lessons I have learned is from the Mustard Seed parable taught by Jesus. It is a key to help us to Not Give Up. Here is a portion from my teaching - the Secret of the Mustard Seed. Full teaching available for download.

The Secret of the Mustard Seed

Jesus was challenging his disciples about the unbelief in their lives when he told them that if their faith was as a grain of mustard seed, they could move a mountain, and that when that mountain was moved, nothing would be impossible to them. What is the mountain that, when it is removed, nothing is impossible? It is the mountain of unbelief. When Jesus likened their faith to that of a mustard seed, he was doing it for several reasons.

• First, to show that the mountain of unbelief can diminish our faith to a small size.

• Secondly, he wanted them to know that, no matter how small your faith is, it is a seed – it’s still has the potential for growth. When you plant your faith begins to grow.

 And as faith grows, unbelief goes!

Thus, the mountain of unbelief will begin to disappear. And when your faith is full-grown, and the mountain of unbelief is gone - nothing will be impossible to you!

The secret of the mustard seed is its persistence. It won’t give up, no matter what. When conditions would cause other seeds to give up, the mustard seed keeps right on growing. It never stops seeking the light of the sun. The more you bruise and crush the mustard seed, the more aggressively it grows. Mustard seed faith is tough faith that won’t give up – no matter what! Don’t give up!
